New Val Kilmer Movie Shooting in Detroit
(WXYZ) - A cast of A-list actors, at least 120 new jobs, truckloads of movie-making equipment and $5 million in revenue--all of this is coming to downtown Detroit this summer, as producers begin filming “The Irishman,” staring Val Kilmer and Christopher Walken.
The movie to be shot entirely in and around Detroit over the next six weeks features Val Kilmer as a police detective and Christopher Walken as a Jewish mobster, fighting a city-wide gangland war in Cleveland, Ohio.
One key scene will be shot at the old Tiger Stadium will involve 100 extras.
Bart Rosenblatt/Movie Producer: “We’re looking for 100 or so extras for a scene that takes place at the baseball game.”
Bill Spencer: “Exactly how many extras do you need?”
Bart Rosenblatt: “One-hundred to 150 extras in a few days we’ll post a phone number on your website to tell people how they can apply to be one of those extras.”
The movie producer tells WXYZ.com they are not ready to process extras, but when they are they will provide a phone number, and we will post it here.
