Law & Order: CI Season 9 to premiere March 2010

The new season is tentatively scheduled to premiere in March 2010 and will have a split season.

I wonder if split season means split between the 2 sets of detectives. Or split as in 8 episodes first, then 8 later in the year. Any idea?

A split season does sound more like a time break...let's say 8 episodes airing between March and May, and then resuming between August and October? Something like that? That would be interesting, IMO. Give the cast some summer weeks off.

I also seem to remember that Vincent is doing a movie that starts to shoot in Oct/Nov. Down and Dirty Pictures. Maybe the break is in consideration of his filming schedule? Same for Jeff and Katie.
