OT: Update on "Walk for the Animals"

We wanted to follow-up on our post in September for the Humane Society's annual "Walk for the Animals". Compassionate supporters donated $115,000 to aid the Humane Society of the US in their efforts to end pet homelessness and puppy mills.

Great! What a worthy cause!

I can say first hand about the great work the humane society does.

As a feral cat colony caretaker, we utilize our local chapter for reduced spay/neuters as well as feral rabies vaccinations and snap tests. Without their help, I couldn't have "fixed" the more than 50 ferals that we have and we wouldn't have been able to support and run our colony of 35+ cats.

I should also say that one of our three dogs is a humane society adoptee...(all three are rescues!)

Thanks "Reel" for all your banners and posts on this subject!

"From beasts we scorn as soulless,
In forest, field and den,
The cry goes up to witness
The soullessness of men."

I am all in favour of animal charities - it is almost all I donate to - but the people who dressed up that poor little dog deserve to have something unspeakable done to them for cruety to a poor, defenceless animal!
