LOL! It's about bagels--
Schmear factor

Bagel making is a little time-consuming, but you will know it is time well spent when the scent of freshly baked, golden bagels permeates the house.
My 11-year-old Icelandic nephew sat down at the breakfast table with a look that suggested he'd stayed up too late Wii-ing the evening before. "I'm not hungry," he muttered, ignoring the platter full of freshly baked bagels in front of him. His mother, my sister, wouldn't hear of it. "You will eat one bagel! Your aunt just baked these. They're home-baked!" Grudgingly, he reached for one of the bagels, split it open and slathered it with butter. He took a bite, a few chews, and all of a sudden his eyes opened wide. "OH, MY GOD," he said -- in English! I think he ate four more before his mother ordered him to stop so he wouldn't get a stomachache. This, really, is the reason why I make my own bagels, and do so no matter what the calendar says. If it happens to be a 100-degree day, I wait until nighttime to bake. Homemade bagels are scrumptious, everything you ever wanted a breadstuff to be.
excerpted....I like my kids out of my way when I make bagels -- it involves a large pot of boiling water on the stove -- so I often make the dough in the morning, let it proof in the refrigerator during the day, and then when they've gone to bed, I get out the dough, turn on "Law & Order" and get to work. With just me and Vincent D'Onofrio in the kitchen, things can't go wrong.

I heard Vincent say that he's not that good of a cook. Although, I can't see how things could go wrong with water and dough. Poor Carin, I guess she does a lot of the kitchen details (cooking).
If she's watching 'Law and Order', she's not watching Vincent....
Lizzie ;)
You know what's funny, Lizzie? Even though "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" is treated like the outcast of the 3 shows, even if a person mentions just the "Law and Order" part, I think they are thinking of CI and that guy who leans his head. It's a pity USA has never figured that out.
Speaking of heads. I was visiting a friend. While we were talking, I realized that -- I forget which station -- (Bravo, USA, TNT), L&O was coming on. She asked me which one did I like, so I told her that my fave was/is Criminal Intent. Well, she said, -- hold on to your hats -- "the one with the big head." "I don't like that L&O." I just felt a knot in my stomach. I felt myself about to get real indignant. Needlses to say I went home to watch "big head". I tolerate no one, and I mean no one, to bad mouth Vincent.
Hi bbg1, How odd of your friend to say that...he doesn't have a big head. Well, not the one we see on tv anyway. haha. If it makes you feel better, I was talking to a friend the other day who is a more casual fan than we are, and when I told her he wasn't going to be on the show anymore, she said, "Well, I won't watch it anymore then. I only watch it because of him."
