D'Onofrio chose to leave Law & Order: Criminal Intent
Tom Jicha TV and Radio Writer, 2.12.10

I just learned that Vincent D'Onofrio will no longer be on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." He is probably the best, most charismatic actor on TV. He's being replaced by Jeff Goldblum, who is a one-note player, with a monotone voice, who shows no emotion and is the most boring, uncreative person ever on television. When Goldblum appears in the opening credits, I turn off the show. How can this happen? I hope your opinion is no different as we agree on everything else. -- C.H., e-mail

Just because you're a big fan of D'Onofrio, who I agree is superb, and are upset he's leaving, you don't have to be so cruel to Goldblum, who's a fine actor. D'Onofrio wasn't fired. He asked to leave. He's one of those actors who likes to get into his roles and work at his own pace, which doesn't jibe with the demands of weekly TV. Full article

I'm very sad Vincent is leaving. I'm not keen at all on J.G. so I won't be watching.

Anyone would ask to leave if they found out their salary was being cut in half.
