Woodstock Film Festival to screen horror flicks

The Woodstock Film Festival Oct. 1 will screen two horror films, “Don’t Go in the Woods” and “Bitter Feast,” at The Emerson Resort & Spa, Route 28, Mt. Tremper, west of downtown Woodstock.

The 2010 Woodstock Film Festival runs Sept. 29-Oct. 3 in Woodstock, Rhinebeck, Rosendale and Hunter. The complete lineup will be announced Wednesday.

“Don’t Go in the Woods” marks the directorial debut of Vincent D'Onofrio, whose past work includes “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “Full Metal Jacket” and “Men In Black.” “Don’t Go in the Woods” will be screened at the Emerson Resort & Spa’s Catamount Pavilion. The Woodsdtock Film Festival describes “Don’t Go in the Woods” as “Glee” meets “The Blair Witch Project.”

The Emerson Great Room will host “Bitter Feast.” “Bitter Feast” was produced by long-time Boiceville resident Larry Fessenden. “Bitter Feast” is about a down-on-his-luck celebrity chef who takes revenge on one of his critics.

D'Onofrio, Fessenden, Sam Bisbee, who composed the score for “Don’t Go in the Woods,” and Joe Maggio, who directed “Bitter Feast,” will attend question-and-answer sessions following the screenings. be in attendance for Q & A's after their films. Also, the Don’t Go in the Woods band, featured in the film, will perform.

Mary Giuliani Catering, in conjunction with renowned chef Mario Batali, who makes a cameo appearance in “Bitter Feast,’ will create a pre-screening meal for ticket-holders.

These screenings will be followed by film festival’s annual Filmmakers Party, which is only open to horror film ticket holders and filmmakers.

Tickets will be available at and at the film festival box office, 13 Rock City Road., Woodstock. The box office will open in September.

i saw the film in Cali, he said he wants people to go on to face book and comment. if you havent seen the film say where you live and let them know you want the film in your town!!!

I might be able to make this one (I have relatives in New Paltz), but I'm not sure yet. Fingers crosses, because I usually don't have much luck with planning these kinds of things.
