Trailer: "Kill the Irishman"

Over the summer of 1976, thirty-six bombs detonate in the heart of Cleveland while a turf war raged between Irish mobster Danny Greene (Ray Stevenson) and the Italian mafia. Based on a true story, KILL THE IRISHMAN chronicles Greene’s heroic rise from a tough Cleveland neighborhood to become an enforcer in the local mob. Turning the tables on loan shark Shondor Birns (Christopher Walken) and allying himself with gangster John Nardi (Vincent D’Onofrio), Greene stops taking orders from the mafia and pursues his own power. Surviving countless assassination attempts from the mob and killing off anyone who went after him in retaliation, Danny Greene’s infamous invincibility and notorious fearlessness eventually led to the collapse of mafia syndicates across the U.S. and also earned him the status of the man the mob couldn’t kill.

* Starring: Christopher Walken, Val Kilmer, Steven R. Schirripa, Vincent D'Onofrio and Paul Sorvino.
* Directed by: Jonathan Hensleigh.
* MPAA Rating: R for strong violence, language and some sexual content/nudity
* Release Date: March 11, 2011

Written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh and also starring Val Kilmer, Paul Sorvino and Linda Cardellini, KILL THE IRISHMAN is inspired by Rick Porello’s true crime account “To Kill The Irishman: The War That Crippled The Mafia.”

"Mother's House" starring Kathryn Erbe in need of backers

About this project

When Catherine and Thomas begin to empty his late mother’s home, they unearth secrets in the cluttered rooms. What happened there, years ago? Dreams, memory, and reality do battle in the disturbing world of “Mother’s House”.

Our real-life experience clearing out the home of Davis' late parents inspired a series of “what if” questions... What if a long-forgotten mystery lay waiting under layers of family possessions? What if all your childhood memories proved false? What if nothing was as you remembered it? And could you tell this story in under thirty minutes?

With Kathryn Erbe and Tim Guinee leading the cast, the project quickly gathered speed. A nine-day shoot in idyllic Stone Ridge involved a talented crew of over forty people, from high school students to professionals with decades of experience in the film industry. A 150-year-old house provided a location with enormous personality, and film-friendly upstate NY gave us the perfect mix of bizarre and beautiful.

Directed by Davis Hall and produced by Ingrid Price (former costume designer at Law and Order: CI and a friend of Kate's).

The ambitious shoot didn’t come cheap. The cast worked under the SAG Short Film Agreement, the crew generously donated their time and expertise, but we paid for equipment rentals, transportation, location rentals, housing, local law enforcement, meals (!), craft service, set dressing, wardrobe, props... you get the picture.

We’ve got a gorgeous film, with terrific performances from Kathryn Erbe, Tim Guinee, Eddie Schweighardt, and Denny Dillon. The Sony XDCAM HD cinematography is spectacular, the sound is outstanding. We’re in the final stages of editing, adding music and sweetening the final audio mix.

This is a good film; we want people to see it.

The funds we receive here at Kickstarter will be used for the following:
• Studio time for the final sound mix
• Transfer costs to HDCAM and other festival-friendly screening formats
• Entry fees and associated costs for film festivals
• Marketing and publicity

The ultimate goal is to have “Mother’s House” seen by as many audiences as possible. You can make that happen.

Project location: Stone Ridge, NY

Pledge $100 or more -- The Silver Screen: a “special thanks” mention on our website, plus the DVD as soon as it’s available, and your name in the “special thanks” section of the credit roll of the film itself.

Chris Brancato Taking Over 'Criminal Intent'

Hollywood Reporter, 12.6.10
by James Hibberd

Chris Brancato is taking over showrunning duties on USA's Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

The writer has a list of credits that include episodes of Law & Order: SVU, Boomtown and the original Beverly Hills, 90210.

L&O franchise veteran Walon Green is stepping down from the top post and leaving the show.

The showrunner shakeup is the latest in a series of changes for the CI's tenth and final season. Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe are returning to the show, but Jeff Goldblum and Eric Bogosian exited the series.

The final eight episodes of CI will air on USA starting in April.

Thanks Sharon!

Erika Hampson's "Worst Friends" raising funds for completion

This movie stars Kathryn Erbe, Larry Fessenden, Richard Tanne, Noah Barrow, Kristen Connolly, and Sarah Wynter, among others.

Stage & Screen: Woodstock Film Festival's December events

By Timothy Malcolm
Times Herald-Record

With three events over the next three weeks, the Woodstock Film Festival is keeping busy heading into the winter.

The fun begins Saturday, when three accomplished vocalists will serenade using "Songs From the Silver Screen." Ann Osmond, Dennis Yerry and Robert Burke Warren will sing a cabaret-style revue of songs from movies including "The Graduate" and "The Blue Angel." The full repertoire couldn't be revealed, however.

I think it's going to be a real beautiful event," Blaustein said.

All proceeds go toward the Woodstock Film Festival and Hudson Valley Film Commission's capital campaign to secure a home in the Town of Woodstock for the Film Center, a facility for events, screenings and workshops.

Also approaching is a screening of a documentary about Wavy Gravy. "Saint Misbehavin'" will be shown at 4 p.m. Dec. 11 at Upstate Films Woodstock. The film looks at Hugh Romney, the iconic hippie-era clown who made his mark at the 1969 Woodstock Music & Art Fair and has spread goodwill throughout the world ever since.

The festival screened an unfinished "Saint Misbehavin'" years ago while the film — directed by Michelle Esrick — was still in production; obviously, Ben & Jerry's Wavy Gravy ice cream and plenty of red noses were part of the festivities. This time around, Wavy Gravy's wife and members of the film crew will be present.

"The message of the film is so much in line with what we do and who we are," Blaustein said. "(Esrick) has put years and years of nonstop work into the film."

The third event, Youth Day with Vincent D'Onofrio, is a rescheduled event from the festival occurring Dec. 17 at Onteora High School. D'Onofrio and a host of others — including filmmaker John Bowermaster — will speak with the region's students about life in the film industry. A screening of the Woodstock Film Festival's "Teen Films" selections will follow.

"I'm very happy and proud that we can give that to the area youth," Blaustein said. "We want them to go out there and succeed. It's such an exciting field."
