Vincent cast in "Chronicle"?

Recently posted on Indiewire, 1.12.11

Justin Long, John Hawkes & Ryan Phillippe To Star In Indie Pic ‘Chronicle’

There’s not a lot of information yet, but a report about Justin Long’s new production company revealed that he would be starring in a new film, “Chronicle,” alongside John Hawkes and Ryan Philippe. According to the Gramery Park Pictures website, Mickey Rourke, Helena Bonham Carter, Kate Mara, Danny Masterson and Vincent D’Onofrio were in discussions to join the cast as of last month, but no word if they will be signing on or have simply moved on (our guess is probably the latter).

IMDb lists the following rumored cast for "Chronicle".

Helena Bonham Carter ...Miss Molly (rumored)
Kate Mara ... Hindley (rumored)
Justin Long ... Charlie (rumored)
Ryan Phillippe ... Charlie (rumored)
Vincent D'Onofrio ... Agent Eckhart (rumored)
Danny Masterson ... Bernie (rumored)
John Hawkes ... Pig pen (rumored)

BUT we are told that casting for the film is as follows:

Owen: CAST (Ryan Phillippe)
Charlie: CAST (Justin Long)
Pig Pen: CAST (John Hawkes)
Hindley: CAST (Kate Mara)
Bernie: CAST (Danny Masterson)

And a casting call for the role of Agent Eckart was posted on 1/21/10--

IMPOSTER AGENT ECKART - This unkempt, bearded DEA "agent" barges into Charlie's home with his partner and proceeds to intimidate and threaten Charlie about a recent pot shipment. It's a sting, however, as Charlie later realizes.

We'll see!

Vampire Western "High Midnight" loses funding

Fangoria, 1.21.11

Mary Lambert talks life after “MEGA PYTHON VS. GATOROID

It’s tough to follow up a film called MEGA PYTHON VS. GATOROID, but director Mary Lambert already has a few irons in the fire. The helmer of PET SEMATARY and its sequel, THE IN CROWD, THE ATTIC and SIESTA, waxed enthusiastic yesterday about her Syfy debut, which airs Saturday, January 29 at 9 p.m., and also spoke with us exclusively about her post-MEGA PYTHON future.

The outlandish Debbie Gibson/Tiffany-starrer (pictured below) has whetted Lambert’s taste for doing more science-fiction scare flicks. “I want to do another movie with creatures in it,” she tells Fango. “I really do. I had fun doing MEGA PYTHON VS. GATOROID, and I’m working on a script right now called THE RISING. It’s not exactly like MEGA PYTHON VS. GATOROID; it’s a little more of a thriller, less of a creature feature. It’s about alien lifeforms that come ashore in Hawaii, because I’ve been spending a lot of time there.”

...Lambert also reveals that HIGH MIDNIGHT, another vampire project she had previously been attached to, has stalled. The period horror/Western once slotted Vincent D’Onofrio, William Baldwin and GRIMM LOVE’s Thomas Kretschmann as topliners. “The producers weren’t able to get the money together,” she reveals. “It would be close, and then the funding would just fall apart, then get close and then fall apart again. We had a really good cast to star in it, and finally there wasn’t much I could do except fund it myself. I came from a farm in rural Arkansas. My daddy didn’t leave me money to fund my motion pictures [laughs].”

Law and a double order of good life

The Daily Telegraph, 1.12.11

VINCENT D'Onofrio is one of the most enigmatic actors in Hollywood and he's clearly been in a good paddock since hanging up his badge in Law And Order: Criminal Intent late last year.

The acclaimed actor is in Sydney on his annual pilgrimage to spend time with his 17-year-old Australian daughter Leila, the product of his early '90s relationship with actress Greta Scacchi.

Father and daughter headed down to Bondi yesterday for a swim where the 51-year-old star -- who played Detective Goren in the crime series -- went unnoticed, except by photographers disguised as sandcrabs.

D'Onofrio spent time living in Coogee in the 1990s and knows this city well.

While his character dramatically left his precinct in the series before last, he will return for the final series, scheduled to air here next year.

Thanks Linda!

Possible new film for Vincent?

Update 2.1.11 - Vincent is not listed in the cast of this film.

A source tells us that Vincent may have a role in a film titled "Savannah" about a bigger-than-life hunter named Ward Allen and his friendship with a freed slave named Christmas Moultrie, to be directed by filmmaker Annette Haywood-Carter. The film will be shot entirely on location in Savannah, GA. Casting is currently underway and principal photography is expected to begin February 14th. (or possibly Feb 25)

Storyline -- The true story of Ward Allen, a white aristocrat, and Christmas Moultrie, a freed slave, in the early 1900's. Ward Allen was a romantic naturalist in the vein of Thoreau, an aristocrat who turned his back on a life of material comfort to become a market hunter. He and Christmas Moultrie became business partners, confidantes and life-long friends and together they tried to navigate the vicissitudes of social, industrial, environmental and personal change that threatened their way of life.

We're told that his role would be that of Jack Cay --
..tow-headed and bespectacled, with a big warm smile that causes people to love him, Jack is a long-time admirer of freed slave, Christmas Moultrie* . As a boy, he used to listen to Christmas' stories about life on the river, and now feels it his duty to look after the older man. The father of a ten year old boy, Jack feels it is incumbent upon him to raise his son in the tradition of his family, but learns from Christmas to look beyond set notions into the heart of his son.

We have not yet been able to confirm his involvement in this film. We'll post an update if available.
