THE INSIDER: Vincent D’Onofrio – New Interview with SFF Alum!

The Insider
by James Franco

2010 was an amazing year for SFF! One of the highlights for me was the presence of the incredible Vincent D’Onofrio who screened his feature film directorial debut Don’t Go in the Woods. He was also a guest for our Conversations series. Vincent is a brilliant artist and a true gentleman. It was my pleasure recently to ask him about his SFF experience!

INSIDER: Congratulations once again on “Don’t Go in the Woods”. What has been happening with your film since it screened at the Sarasota Film Festival last year?

VINCENT D’ONOFRIO: Tribeca films picked up our film and is going to distribute and market it. We are all really excited.

NSIDER: What was it like to screen your movie at our festival? Were you pleased with the audience reactions and Q&As during your screenings?

VINCENT D’ONOFRIO: It was really enjoyable to screen at your festival. When we screened in Sarasota, it was early on in the process and the positive reaction enticed us to do more screenings all over the country.

INSIDER: Other than the screenings, what were some of your favorite experiences when attending our festival?

VINCENT D’ONOFRIO: Patti Smith. Patti Smith. Patti Smith. Patti Smith.

INSIDER: Do you have any other upcoming or in-the-works projects that you would like to discuss? If so, we’d love to hear about them:

VINCENT D’ONOFRIO: We are putting together my next film called Johnny and Me and will be looking for a financier soon. The script is almost finished.
