Vincent D’Onofrio
and Julia Ormond star in the psychological thriller. Anchor Bay holds US rights and has tentatively set a spring 2012 release.

Kirk D’Amico’s finance, production and sales company will show the first trailer next week on Chained, which tells of a youngster kidnapped by a serial killer who learns to follow in the psychopath’s footsteps in order to survive as he plots his escape. Eamon Farren, Gina Philips and Jake Webber also star. Damian O’Donnell wrote the screenplay.

Paramount-based Envision Media Arts is financing the project and Envision’s Lee Nelson and David Buelow are producing alongside Rhonda Baker.

“Chained is one of the most terrifying scripts I have ever read,” D’Amico said. “It delivers pure, raw terror – the experience core audiences around the world crave and can’t be faked. I think Jennifer Lynch is the perfect director to realise this material and Myriad Pictures is proud to be in business with her. We look forward to working with Jennifer and Lee, David, Rhonda and our friends at Anchor Bay.”

“We are really excited about how Jennifer’s artistic sensibility comes alive on the screen and very happy to have entered into this relationship with Myriad,” Envision CEO Nelson said. “Not only are they respected in the industry but also they share David and my vision of creating commercial films that elevate the genre.”

Myriad’s svp of business affairs David Ducar negotiated with Ron Levin on behalf of Envision Media Arts.

Lynch’s directing credits include Surveillance and Boxing Helena.
