Casting Complete for the New Groups’s Clive, Starring Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio and Zoe Kazan

Casting is complete for the New Group's world premiere production of Clive, starring previously announced actors Brooks Ashmanskas, Vincent D’Onofrio, Zoe Kazan and Ethan Hawke in the title role. Written by Jonathan Marc Sherman, Clive will be directed by Hawke. The production will run at off-Broadway’s Acorn Theatre from January 17 through March 9, with an official opening night set for February 7.

In addition to Hawke, Ashmanskas, D’Onofrio and Kazan, Clive will feature Sherman, Stephanie Janssen, Mahira Kakkar, Aaron Krohn and Dana Lyn. Set in New York City in the 1990s, Clive tells the story of a dissipated songwriter, from the hedonistic heights of seduction and consumption into an ecstasy of self-destruction. The play features an eclectic selection of classic American songs performed live.

Janssen’s Broadway credits include Death of a Salesman and Mrs. Warren’s Profession. Most recently, she appeared in off-Broadway’s Ivanov alongside Hawke. Kakkar’s off-Broadway credits include Harper Regan and Miss Witherspoon. She has appeared on the small screen in The Big C, Blue Bloods and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Krohn’s Broadway credits include The Farnsworth Invention, The Coast of Utopia, Julius Caesar and Henry IV. Lyn has appeared off-Broadway in Hamlet. As an actor, Sherman’s off-Broadway credits include Ivanov, Unexpected Tenderness and his play Sophistry.

Clive features set design by Derek McLane, costume design by Catherine Zuber, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and sound design by Shane Rettig.

Sounds interesting! That Stephanie Janssen is familiar-looking, but her IMDB isn't helping me.
