More filming location details for ‘The Judge’, starring Robert Downey, Jr., in Shelburne Falls, MA

As we’ve reported, Robert Downey, Jr.’s next project, The Judge, will begin filming in Shelburne Falls, MA soon, and now we have more details about exactly where and when they’ll be shooting around town.

According to local reports, on May 31, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the production will film aerial views of a funeral procession down Shelburne Falls’ main streets. A helicopter will be used to get shots circling through the village and from the rooftop of McCusker’s Market Building.

Several Shelburne Falls storefronts will also be featured in the movie during filming, including Neighbors convenience store, the old Mole Hollow Candle Co, Good Spirits liquor store, Rethreads consignment store, Baker’s Pharmacy, Singley’s Furniture, and Wandering Moon.

In addition, the Shelburne Police Station, Bridge Street, Zerah Fiske Road, Arms Cemetery, and Shelburne Falls’ Memorial Hall, which they would use for rehearsing, staging and extras holding, will also be filming locations.

In the Buckland side of the village, Clement Street, State Street, Salmon Falls Artisans Showroom, and part of the Lamson & Goodnow property will be used in the movie.
The shoot is expected to last from May 31 to June 18 in Shelburne Falls before moving to Boston.

Leighton Meester, Vera Farmiga, Robert Duvall, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Billy Bob Thornton also star in the movie which focuses on a man who returns to his hometown for his mother’s funeral.
