Leila George appears with Greta Scacchi in "The Seagull"

Vincent's daughter, Leila George, will appear in a production of The Seagull along with her mother, actress Greta Scacchi.   The Seagull is part of the Black Swan Theatre's 2014 lineup.

"This production celebrates WA's community that knows so well the joys and perils of welcoming home friends and family from foreign climes. Will they delight us with their adventures or carelessly wreak havoc? The brilliant Greta Scacchi brings to life Chekhov’s fascinating actress, Arkadina, while her beautiful daughter Leila George lights up our stage as Nina.” Kate Cherry

Leila George and Greta Scacchi attend The Last Impresario screening afterparty. --

 Gracie Otto directed The Last Impresario (formerly titled "Chalky").

He partied with the Beatles, produced Monty Python and brought The Rocky Horror Show onto the stage, so it was only fair that glitzy showbiz producer and party-loving playboy Michael White should have a whole documentary devoted to him. Three cheers then for Gracie Otto who directed the warm-hearted The Last Impresario (it features Kate Moss, Naomi Watts and John Cleese nattering away about the man of the moment). After the screening at the BFI Film Festival, a heap of very important people from the film and television world trooped along to the Arts Club for a tipple or three. Despite relying on walking sticks to get around, 77-year-old Michael was still the last man standing. Once a social butterfly, always a social butterfly.

"Ass Backwards" screening and Q&A at USC

November 8, 2013 -  The University of Southern California hosted a night of comedy film screening this Wednesday (November 6th, 2013) at 7pm in The Ray Stark Family Theatre. It started with a showcase of several short comedic films written and starred by Jessie Kahnweiler, including two episodes of the comedic web series "Dude, Where's My Chutzpah?" and "Baby Love." The night ended with a screening of the film "Ass Backwards" and a chat with the star and writer of the film, Casey Wilson, who is also a series regular on "Happy Endings," accompanied by Chris Nelson, the director of the film .

"Ass Backwards" is a hilarious movie about two hopeless (and homeless) idiots, Chloe (Casey Wilson) and Kate (June Diane Raphael) going on a cross-country field trip back to their hometown to win a pageant to prove to themselves and others, like their namesis Laurel (Alicia Silverstone), that they are indeed beautiful. The plot may sound similar to that of Little Miss Sunshine, but it is definitely different. "Ass Backwards" is way more vulgar and the two women are way more idiotic and nothing beats urinating on the sidewalk bare butts.

The great night ended with a talk with Casey Wilson and Chris Nelson.

It has been a seven-year journey for this film, said Casey Wilson, "whether you believe that or not after watching this film, but we started writing in 2006, and it took us two years to find financing, then worked with Chris for a year and shot the movie for 20 days in upstate New York, and the film shut down because an investor defaulted on his loan. It shut down for two years. We refer to it as our 'Dark Period.' "

They talked about getting money for the film, "I made Chris met with an energy drink company and June and I met with Russian mobster in Calabasas," Casey said, "We were screening the footage but we didn't have all of it so we were like, well we don't have the first act so we were like, 'it's really funny when ok well, you have to know this, oh wait, you know what? let's back it up!' so they were like, 'we don't want anything to do with this!' "

When they were asked about having stars like "Law & Order" star Vincent D'Onofrio, "Breaking Bad" star Bob Odenkirk to work in the movie, Casey said, "Well, Bob have been a friend of June and I for years and gave me my first job when I moved out here, and then I subsequently babysat for his kids, and so did June. So we asked Bob and he did it as a friend and so did Paul Scheer and a lot of them." When Chris was asked about working with 'Two and a Half Men' star Jon Cryer, he said, "Well, he is amazing, I mean, he is a well-to-do TV star. He flew the middle seat Jetblue across the country. At one point I remember looking at him at like 4 in the morning and we were in a junior high school gymnasium and there was Jon Cryer like hanging in there."

"He was in the beginning and two years later. He is a wonderful man," Casey said.
When asked about whether or not they let the stars improvise their lines and experiment with the characters, Casey said, "They did. I think Bob more than anyone, he really brought himself to it and had fun."
-->
She told us a funny incident that happened while they were shooting the movie, "We were shooting at Upstate NewYork in this Trailer park and we didn't have trailers so we put Vincent D'Onofrio in this woman's trailer, in an actual trailer! We had him sitting in there for like 5 hours and he told us,'the woman was an obssessive Law & Order fan and she's been playing me my own VHS tapes back to back' and we were like 'well, it'll just be a couple more hours.' "

The screening was one unforgettable night!
